Sudan Archives Remixes Martin Kohlstedt’s “AUHEJA”: Listen

Music, News

Sudan Archives has shared a new song: It’s a rework of the track “AUHEJA” by German pianist and composer Martin Kohlstedt. For her new version, Sudan Archives added vocals, a new beat, and her signature violin loops. Check it out below.

“Her voice, her music and her progressive and organic albeit minimal approach hypnotize me,” Martin Kohlstedt said of Sudan Archives. “On top of all of this, she virtuously plays the classical violin and found several hyper-modern ways to give shape to her work. When she replied that she would take on my piece ‘AUHEJA’ I threw a party just for myself in my apartment, danced ecstatically to her music and sprained my ankle.”

Sudan Archives added, “Thank you Martin Kohlstedt. This was my first remix ever made and it’s been such an amazing journey reworking such a beautiful piece of art. I’ve learned so much from this collaboration.”

After releasing two EPs, Sudan Archives released her full-length debut Athena late last year. She recently performed at NPR’s Tiny Desk.
