The Roots’ Black Thought Announces New Streams of Thought, Vol. 3: Cane and Abel EP

The RootsBlack Thought has announced a new EP. Streams of Thought, Vol. 3: Cane and Abel is produced by Sean C and features appearances from PUSHA-T, Killer Mike, Swizz Beatz, Portugal. The Man, ScHoolboy Q, and more. The EP is out July 31 and its first single, “Thought vs. Everybody” will arrive July 10. Checkout the tracklist and cover art by Khari Turner below.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Black Thought will provide music and lyrics for a stage adaptation of George S. Schuyler’s 1931 novel Black No More. Black Thought performed one of these tracks and “Nature of the Beast” on NPR’s “Tiny Desk (Home) Concert” series.

The first two installments in Black Thoughts’ Streams of Thought series arrived in 2018.
