Blast the Legions of Hell to Heavy Metal Tunes in ‘Metal: Hellsinger’

Horror

IGN’s Summer of Gaming event is in full swing, and with it, the announcement of The Outsiders’ new shooter, Metal: Hellsinger. Similar to another upcoming rhythm shooter, Hellsinger has you blowing away enemies to the beat of heavy metal tunes.

Developed by The Outsiders, a team lead by David Goldfarb (game director on Payday 2, lead designer on Battlefield 3 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2), Hellsinger is due for release on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X and PC in 2021.

The premise is simple: You start out in Hell with a simple drum beat, and as you kill to the beat, more instruments get layered on, eventually topping out to a full-on song with vocals. Oh yeah, and it’s not just any metal you’re listening to, either. The Outsiders has enlisted the likes of Matt Heafy of Trivium, Mikael St. Anne of Dark Tranquillity, Björn Strid from Soilwork and Arch Enemy’s Alissa White-Gluz to add some voice to the game’s all-original soundtrack, with more to be announced.
