Survive an Earthquake And Otherworldly Monsters in ‘Escape From Violet Institute’

Horror

If Resident Evil 3 hasn’t clicked with you, then perhaps CJB Games can give you that survival horror fix with their recently-released 1st person game, Escape From Violet Institute. Touted as a “2D sidescrolling 1st Person Survival Horror Game”, Escape From Violet Institute combines the two views, along with traditional platforming and exploration.

In the game, you wake up abruptly to the sound of an earthquake ripping through your workplace. Whilst trying to escape to the surface, you find yourself confronting monsters, while also hopping through multiple dimensions. Along the way, you also discover the truth about your past, and just what exactly is going on.

The game ups the challenge by employing a single life with no checkpoints or autosaves. The only time a save is made is when you quit to the main menu. To entice multiple playthroughs, there are branching paths within the game, which in turn affects the ending. CJB Games are also planning to introduce new modes and DLC “in the near future”.

As mentioned, the game is out now on Steam, so head on over and check it out if you’re keen on a unique challenge.
