Luann de Lesseps Wants Bethenny Frankel To Stop Dissing Real Housewives; Says Ratings Are Great

Reality TV

We’re on to week three of the Real Housewives of New York Season 12, with this season’s cast dynamics well underway. Everyone is getting along with new housewife Leah McSweeney. At least for now. All the women are still not “housewives” by definition, and arguing over who gets the best room is still very much engraved in their DNA.

In fact, it might seem like not much has changed. Until you realize that Luann de Lesseps can now drink as she pleases out of probation. And the woman who would have had the most to say about this, Skinnygirl CEO Bethenny Frankel, is no longer part of the cast. Bethenny made recent comments on the ratings, and a revitalized Luann has responded.

Luann did an interview with Betches, discussing the new season and how the dynamics have changed in a post-Bethenny production.

Bethenny, who made recent comments that the ratings are not on par with what they should be, feels that the content is not inspiring enough for what viewers are looking for. Say what you want, but Luann successfully completing her probation is plenty inspirational for me. “I’ve been through a rough couple of years, and it’s over for me, and that’s huge,” Luann divulged. “because I wasn’t able to just be me.”

“I wasn’t able to be Lu, because I had this weight, kind of cloud hanging over my head,” Luann shared to Betches on her probation ending.

Also weighing down the women was Bethenny. Luann said of Bethenny’s absence this season, “the women get to express themselves more and get more camera time as a result.”

Without contest, Bethenny’s charitable efforts are extremely noble and set a strong example for how others in her place can be helping. Looking at her ratings comment with good deeds out of the equation though, there may be some resentment.

“I was surprised when Bethenny made those comments because our ratings are great. She’s the one who left the show, so why make comments? It doesn’t make sense to me. You’re gonna leave a show, then leave a show and do your own thing” Luann said to Betches.  It does seem like it would be in the best interest of Bethenny and her new endeavors to stop talking about the show.

Luann backtracked, “Listen I wish her the best. I know she’s on to other projects. So, good for her.” It’s generous for Luann to express support towards her given that she just attacked the ratings. What viewers may need right now in ‘Lu’ of inspirational content from Bethenny, is just good old debauchery.

Lu said, “This season I think is great because we have a lot more breathing room, and the women get to express more themselves and get more camera time as a result.” Luann may be using the term “express” loosely. We saw a preview of broken wine glasses and and a vibrator in leftover chicken next week. All relative with these women though!
