King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard Announce New Concert Film and Album

Music, News

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have announced a new concert film. Chunky Shrapnel was recorded on the band’s 2019 tour of Europe. It arrives April 17 with a live-streamed premiere, accompanied by a double-LP release of the live album. Check out the trailer below.

Chunky Shrapnel was made for the cinema but as both concerts and films are currently outlawed, it feels poetic to release a concert-film digitally right now,” said frontman Stu Mackenzie in a statement. Earlier this year, the band released another pair of live albums to benefit wildfire relief in their home country of Australia. The group had to push back their 2020 tour of North America until the fall due to the COVID-19 pandemic, see those rescheduled dates here.
