Featured in the second season of “Stranger Things,” the 1983 arcade game Dragon’s Lair is now getting a live action feature film, and wouldn’t ya know it, it’s found a home at Netflix!

THR reports that Ryan Reynolds is in talks to star in the Netflix film, which is being penned by Dan and Kevin Hageman (The Lego Movie, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark).

Wiki explains the game’s plot:

“Protagonist Dirk the Daring is a knight attempting to rescue Princess Daphne from the evil dragon Singe who has locked the princess in the foul wizard Mordroc’s castle.”

The groundbreaking game had been turned into a short-lived animated series back in the ’80s. A potential feature film adaptation has been talked about many times over the years.

Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee (IT) will produce alongside Reynolds. Game creator Don Bluth is also on board to produce, as are Trevor Engelson, Gary Goldman and Jon Pomeroy.
