M.I.A. has shared her first new song in three years. Take a listen to “OHMNI 202091” on her Patreon page, and read the lyrics below. In a tweet, she introduced the song by calling it “free music to get you the fuck up outta bed.”
The song is available for free via her Patreon account, which was launched in January. She launched the page with the promise that fans would get access to music, livestreams, Q&As, and more.
M.I.A. released her fifth album AIM in September 2016, and the documentary MATANGI / MAYA / M.I.A. arrived two years later. In 2018, she shared a previously unreleased video for her song “Reload,” which she recorded in 2004 but didn’t release before its inclusion on the MATANGI / MAYA / M.I.A. soundtrack. She was named a Member of Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in June 2019 for her “services to music.”
