SCP Archives Year Review

Horror

At the beginning of this month, we released the first episode of SCP Archives Season Two, and today marks one year since we first launched the show! Though the show’s just turned one, it’s something Jon Grilz (of our sister show, Creepy,  and SCP Archive’s Host) had in the works since 2017!

I had worked with Jon on a small handful of Creepy episodes when he was just beginning, then I shifted my focus to my team’s show, which was an audio drama called Aftershocks, which is where I first worked with Tom Rory Parsons (our composer). After wrapping up on that show and testing the waters with a few new scripts, in late 2018 I scrolled past a random Reddit post, inquiring about an SCP podcast.

It seemed as good of a sign as any other, so I messaged Jon, we pitched the show to Bloody Disgusting, and a few months later we premiered!

In that time, SCP Archives has earned a large and loyal fanbase!

With just under 500 reviews and an average of 5 stars, I’m proud to say this is the best-rated podcast I’ve ever launched! Most importantly, folks who tuned in at the beginning, are still listening, earning us one of the top slots on Apple Podcast’s Science Fiction category!

The support didn’t end there though when the Audio Verse Awards came around we took home an award for best theme, thanks to Tom, and of course, our fans!

But perhaps the biggest milestone was surpassing our downloads goal times ten!

None of this would have been possible without you, our fans!

I truly can’t tell you how much we appreciate you listening, sharing, and caring about our show. I’m super excited to delve further into Season Two, crank out some exciting new postcards, and continue on with our community nights!

Here’s to another year.
