‘Jennifer’s Body’ Director Karyn Kusama Attached to Direct New Take on ‘Dracula’ for Blumhouse!

Horror

The box office success of Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man has made Universal’s iconic monsters popular again, and THR reports tonight that Karyn Kusama (Jennifer’s Body, The Invitation, Destroyer) has been set to direct a new take on Dracula for Blumhouse Productions.

THR notes, “The project isn’t housed at Universal yet, and technically, it could be made at another studio because Dracula is in the public domain.”

They also note, however, that it’s highly unlikely Universal won’t be involved.

Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay (The Invitation) are writing the script.

Other monster movies in the works over at Universal include Paul Feig’s Dark Army, Dexter Fletcher’s Renfield, Matt Stawski’s Monster Mash, and Elizabeth Banks’s The Invisible Woman.

James Wan is also producing a Frankenstein-esque monster movie.
