Arca Discusses New Album KiCk i

Music, News

Arca discussed her next album in a recent interview with Alex Frank for Garage Magazine. According to the article, the artist’s fourth studio LP KiCk i will feature vocals from Spanish pop star Rosalía as well as frequent Arca collaborator Björk. The new record will open with a track called “Nonbinary.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Arca discusses her split upbringing in Caracas, Venezuela and Darien, Connecticut, her current obsession with the diva archetype, and some of the inspiration that went into making KiCk i. “There was a clear intention [on the album] to allow every self to express itself,” Arca tells Frank.” “Not to decide how much air time each self would get, but to allow for modulation between them in a spontaneous way. There is no such thing as normal.”

Arca’s last studio album was her self-titled LP from 2017. Last month, she shared @@@@@, a single track clocking in at 62 minutes.
