Collecting all of these requires that the player collects a load of gems. Aside from the relics that are in specific locations or in the Genie Realm. Shantae is what every independent developer would love to accomplish. Shantae is a symbol of the gaming community, even having a good amount of supports for her to make her way to Nintendo’s massive crossover, Super Smash Brothers Ultimate. She always ranks highly within fan polls amongst larger and more popular characters like Halo’s Master Chief or Sora from Kingdom Hearts. For an independent character, she stands firmly next to iconic indie characters like Cuphead, Sans from Undertale, and Steve from Minecraft (if people still consider Minecraft to be an independent game after its huge surge in popularity). The series will most likely continue, regardless if it’s from fan support or the revenue generated by the games themselves.
