Despite it being one of the Kickstarter goals, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night director Koji Igarashi took to the project’s official Kickstarter to tell fans that the Roguelike option for the game has to be scrapped. In its place, there will be a new Randomizer option.
“One of the promised stretch goals for the game was Roguelike,” says Igarashi. “Unfortunately, the code that was created early in the game’s development is not currently compatible with this type of gameplay.”
The Randomizer option, which allows players to choose up to eight different game parameters to be randomized during the playthrough, will launch for free with Zangetsu as a playable character.
The Kickstarter update also touches on the upcoming updates to the Switch version of the game, “Content Parity” between all versions of the game, as well as the Boss Revenge Mode being released after the aforementioned Zangetsu update.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
