Actor Lewis Tan Praises Benjamin Wallfisch’s “Grand” and “Powerful” Score for ‘Mortal Kombat’ Movie

Horror

Last week, composer Benjamin Wallfisch (Lights Out, It, It Chapter Two) got Mortal Kombat fans speculating when he tweeted out an image of the video game franchise’s iconic logo, pinning it to the top of his page with no caption attached to the image. It seemed Wallfisch was probably hinting that he was scoring the film, and indeed it looks like he is.

In a response to Wallfisch’s tweet, Mortal Kombat actor Lewis Tan replied and offered up this exciting tease: “What I have heard has blown me away, grand, powerful and cinematic.”

Wallfisch then quote-tweeted Tan’s reply and outright stated he’s scoring the film: “Thanks for the kind words! Honored to be on board and blown away by your performance.

Warner Bros. will release the James Wan-produced Mortal Kombat on January 15, 2021. Greg Russo wrote the script, with Simon McQuoid at the helm as director.

The film is expected to be rated “R”, with gory Fatalities.
