90 Day Fiance Before The 90 Days Announces New Season With The Show’s First Same-Sex Couple & The Return Of Darcey Silva

Reality TV

One nice thing about the 90 Day Fiance franchise is that you can expect fresh programming for most of the year. TLC has consistently added new spin-offs that quench viewers’ thirst for more of the crazy antics of cast members. And how lucky we all are to benefit from it!

Among the popular spin-offs of the show has been 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days. Last season’s show was drama packed, with Angela Deem and Michael Ilesanmi’s endless back-and-forth relationship, Caesar’s ill-fated solo trip to Mexico and 90 Day veteran Darcey Silva optimistically looking for love–again. TLC recently announced a new season of the show, which will hold a few surprises for viewers.

Entertainment Tonight was given an exclusive look at the new season and the franchise is finally featuring its first same-sex couple. Stephanie is a 29-year-old social media influencer from Yonkers, New York. She found online love with Erika, a 24-year-old Australian photographer. The two met when fan Erika messaged Stephanie. Sounds great so far, right?

The only problem is that Stephanie is not out to her family. Additionally, she has a rare bone marrow disease which requires her getting medical clearance to travel to Australia. In the preview, Stephanie reveals, “With my health condition, a common cold can kill me.” Serious stuff, to be sure.

TLC executive Alon Orstein recently shared that the network was actively pursuing the casting of a same-sex couple. That was quick–thanks TLC! Having a same-sex couple on the show will definitely put a different spin on things.

I am sure we are all wondering if Connecticut resident Darcey will be back…well, of course she is! TLC probably had to beg the shy and modest Darcey to return, but she knows her fans expect regular updates and love alerts! Our desperate amore seeker is still trying to sort things out with Brit Tom. At last season’s reunion, it was unclear where things stood between the two of them. Did Darcey ever get to use the key to his house that Tom gave her?

The uncertainty of their relationship practically demanded a return performance for the duo. In the upcoming season, perpetually insecure Darcey appears to have some skepticism about Tom. In an on camera confrontation with her man, she declares, “I don’t trust Tom, I think he’s hiding something from me.” Darcey then asks, “Isn’t there something you want to tell me?” Detective Darcey, on the case!

Among the other hopeful love seekers are:

Lisa, 52 (York, Pennsylvania) and Usman, 30 (Nigeria). Hmmm…a fiftyish American woman pairing up with a Nigerian man young enough to be her son…it sounds so familiar! This couple will have a lofty goal to reach in being as memorable as volatile Angela and charming and long-suffering Michael.

Nigerian Usman is a well-known entertainer and musician in his country who goes by the name of “SojaBoy.” Like Angela, Lisa apparently has a case of the green-eyed monster. “Get rid of these f**king two-bit wh**es, get it straight,” Lisa tells Usman in the preview. To which he replies, “But I’m not your husband yet.” I think she will give Angela a run for her money.

Ed, 54 (San Diego, California) and Rosemarie, 23 (Phillipines). This couple met–where else–on social media. Ed has been single for 28 years and is under 5 feet tall–and he has not been forthcoming about his looks to his lady friend, which shocks her at the airport. In the preview, the couple get into an argument after which he sadly states, “I do not believe in love.” Full drama ahead!

Geoffrey, 41 (Knoxville, Tennessee) and Varya, 30 (Russia). Geoffrey and Varya met on an international dating site. He tragically experienced the loss of his son in recent years. Geoffrey is ready to propose, but has to prove to Varya’s family and friends that he is a good match for her.

Avery, 32 (Seattle, Washington) and Ash, 38 (Australia). Single mother Avery met her guy on Instagram. Ash is–a relationship coach, of all things–and his profession results in some jealousy the couple will have to work through once she arrives in Australia. Can’t love ever be easy?

David, 60 (Las Vegas, Nevada) and Lana, 27 (Ukraine). David is a computer programmer who loves cats. Las Vegas, working in the tech field, catsColt Johnson in 25 years! David sounds like he might have been the perfect man for Mother Debbie Johnson, but, alas, he is in love with Lana, who he met on a Ukrainian dating website.

The couple will also likely inspire Caesar flashbacks as David says he has spent $100,000 on Lana. David has traveled to Ukraine to meet her three times–but Lana was a no-show each time he visited. Shouldn’t the first ghosting have been enough of a clue? Will the fourth time be the charm?
