Snooki — who is leaving “Jersey Shore” — has shared what finally caused her to reach her breaking point with the MTV show that made her famous.
“I think when I was, like, actually forcing myself to be in a situation that I wasn’t happy in. Like, I was forcing myself to be ‘happy,’ and I’m like, ‘That’s not me.’ I’m not genuinely happy,” the reality star, 32, said in her upcoming appearance on “The Mel Robbins Show” (via Us Weekly). “That’s when I’m like, ‘I’m out.’”
The 32-year-old reality star, whose real name is Nicole Polizzi, admitted it wasn’t a light decision.
“It was really hard, but I had to think about my happiness and where I really wanted myself to be, and it’s being a mom and being [with my] kids and not drama and drinking … and drama,” she explained.
Snooki shocked fans last week when she announced she was leaving the MTV reality show.
“You guys, I love you so much and don’t hate me for my decision, but I have to do what’s best for me at the moment,” the mother of three said on her podcast, “It’s Happening with Snooki & Joey.” “I am retiring from ‘Jersey Shore.’ I am not coming back for Season 4 if there is one.”
Snooki shares three young children — 7-year-old Lorenzo, 5-year-old Giovanna and 6-month-old Angelo — with her husband, Jionni LaValle.
Snooki appeared on the original “Jersey Shore” from 2009 to 2012 and returned for “Jersey Shore Family Vacation” in 2018. She also starred on “Snooki & JWoww” with her reality TV co-star Jenni “JWoww” Farley from 2012 to 2015.
