Adapting anything written by a member of the King family seems to be the law of the land these days, what with Doctor Sleep getting the critical success it’s had to Joe Hill’s NOS42 hitting smaller screens on AMC
Now it seems the folks behind Doctor Strange and Sinister are throwing their hats back into the realm of R-Rated Horror. According to twitter, Scott Derrickson stated that after they finish the first horror laden MCU film in Doctor Strange: In The Multiverse of Madness, he and co-writer C. Robert Cargill are going to be heading right into a horror film that they have already written together.
Cargill followed up to that by saying that they are going to be adapting “A Joe Hill Joint”, but have to remain quiet at the moment.
I’m often asked if I’ll ever return to R-rated horror. The answer is a resounding YES.
After Doctor Strange: In the Mutiverse of Madness, I’ll go straight into a horror film I’ve already written with @Massawyrm.

Man, thanks for all the love, you guys. @scottderrickson and I have been sitting on this secret for a while, but we’re super excited about it. Can’t wait to make it.
Might as well also tell you that it’s an adaptation of a @joe_hill joint. Everything else we gotta keep quiet ATM

With these two behind the wheel, we are gonna be in for a pretty awesome ride. Stay tuned for more info!!
