Lionsgate Picks Up ‘The Monster’ from ‘A Monster Calls’ Writer Patrick Ness; New Take on Frankenstein

Lionsgate has acquired a feature pitch from A Monster Calls writer Patrick Ness titled The Monster, Deadline reports today, which is being compared to the classic tale of Frankenstein.

The Monster is said to be “a sparky contemporary horror film with a new take on the Frankenstein mythology.” Temple Hill is attached to produce the forthcoming film.

We have no plot details at this time.

Ness is on board to executive produce.
